An interdisciplinary course designed for the Pennsylvania Consortium for the Liberal Arts that combines individualized Spanish instruction and a service learning project that you design in the city of Quetzaltenango (referred to as Xela, pronounced Shayla, by residents), Guatemala.

This full-immersion program will maximize the development of your Spanish language proficiency as you meaningfully engage with various aspects of Guatemalan culture and provide valuable service to a worthy organization.  Your participation in this experiential education program will enable you to sharpen skills, gain knowledge, and deepen your understanding and appreciation of the rich and diverse culture of a poor country that continues to suffer economic and social injustice.
